Claudicants at work
![]() Intermittent claudication is a common condition in elderly
males. The management of intermittent claudication has moved from balloon
angioplasty and surgery to exercise. Exercise therapy requires strict
invigilation, with the claudicants exercising at maximum pain for 30 minutes
twice a week.
The image above shows a claudicant exercise programme in
full swing.
