These can be submitted at any time to the Editorial Board. Manuscripts should be no longer than 600 words with up to 10 references. They should take the format: introduction, case report, discussion. Up to three images are allowed.

A short movie clip (in .avi or .mpeg format) of a significant feature may be included since we are an online journal. An example can be seen at http://www.nzma.org.nz/journal/121-1282/3270/.

Remember you have a general audience. A case report needs a clear simple message, and strength of evidence.

The basic style is that for all articles in the Journal:

• See a recent issue of the Journal
• See the detailed information for authors
• References in the Vancouver style (Med Educ 1999;33:66-78)

Please obtain patient consent for publication of your report on them and confirm you have obtained that consent in your cover letter which is part of the Manuscript Manager online submission.  If the patient died, then ask their next of kin.  We do not need a copy of the patient consent form.  For information see this editorial on the issue.
