These can be submitted at any time or solicited by the Editorial Board. Manuscripts should be no longer than 3,000 words with up to 30 references. If headings are used they should be small in number and without sub-headings.

Remember you have a general audience especially if your topic is specialised. Make clear the strength of evidence for key statements, e.g.

• based on well-designed randomised controlled trials, meta-analysis or systematic reviews
• based on well-designed cohort or case-control studies
• based on uncontrolled studies or consensus
