The objectives of this paper were to investigate rectal cancer management and survival in a cohort of Maori and non-Maori patients with a newly diagnosed rectal cancer. The findings of this population-based cohort study suggest that there may be both similarities and differences in the presentation, treatment and outcomes from rectal cancer for Maori compared with non-Maori patients in New Zealand.
