Conditions of Access
Since July 2002 the New Zealand Medical Journal has been an online journal. It can be found at: www.nzma.org.nz/journal To protect the value of the journal for PMAG members, as well as facilitating access for subscribers, the Pasifika Medical Association Group (the publisher) has a four-tiered system of subscriber access.
Categories of subscriber
- International
Access is by username and password or IP whitelisting. Subscribing institutions have the right to put the NZMJ on their intranet. Subscribers may print off a paper copy of the NZMJ according to their number of subscriptions (ie one subscription equals one paper copy). Note, if the international subscriber has users in New Zealand, then Category 2 or 3 or 4 will apply.
- New Zealand institution with a high proportion of medical practitioners
This category includes, but is not limited to, District Health Boards and medical schools. Access is by username and password. Subscribers are permitted to provide usernames and password access to individual users on request. Subscribers may print off a paper copy of the NZMJ according to their number of subscriptions (ie, one subscription equals one paper copy).
- New Zealand medical organisations (such as medical colleges)
Access is by username and password and is limited to National Office staff and two elected representatives. Subscribers are not permitted to provide usernames and password access to their doctor members, but may provide them with individual articles. Subscribers may print off a paper copy of the NZMJ according to their number of subscriptions (ie one subscription equals one paper copy).
- Other New Zealand institution or subscriber
Access is by username and password or IP whitelisting. Subscribing institutions may request to put the NZMJ on their intranet. Subscribers may print off a paper copy of the NZMJ according to their number of subscriptions (ie, one subscription equals one paper copy).
Payment of the subscription fee implies acceptance of these conditions. The username and password will be supplied when payment is received. Subscription to the NZMJ is for a calendar year.
Other important information
Unless we hear otherwise, we will assume that subscribers wish to continue their subscription each year, and they will be invoiced accordingly.

It would be helpful if we could have an email address and contact name for each subscriber. Please notify us of any changes.
NZMJ issues more than six months old are not password protected, but are open access on the internet.
